Ein neuer Beitrag von Maurice Erb beleuchtet die Nähe von Foucaults Denken über Macht, Wissen und Subjekt zum biologischen Konzept der "Stigmergie" und fragt nach möglichen direkten Einflüssen.

Norbert Elias ist enttäuscht. Er blickt suchend über einen der Gänge des Zentrums für interdisziplinäre Forschung (ZiF) der Universität Bielefeld, an dem er seit sechs Jahren als Fellow arbeitet. Gleich wird die von ihm organisierte Konferenz zur "Theorie der Zivilisation" beginnen, doch noch immer fehlt einer der prominentesten der eingeladenen Referenten – Michel Foucault. Der ebenfalls bei dieser Tagung anwesende Gerhard Sprenger erinnert sich später an diesen Tag: "Foucault hatte zugesagt – und kam nicht. Er hatte sich auch nicht entschuldigt. Das war – auch für Elias – eine große Enttäuschung. Dann haben wir erfahren, dass er wohl an dem Tag, and dem die Tagung begann, gestorben war …"

From March 19 to 21, 2015, the G+C Blog organized an international conference at the University of Zurich. Eleven scholars from Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Greece, and the USA addressed the question "Historicizing Foucault: What does this mean?" We would like to thank the presenters as well as the audience for their engaging talks and discussions! The conference was kindly supported by the University of Zurich, the Swiss National Science Foundation, the Center History of Knowledge at ETH Zurich, and the Department of Theory at the University of the Arts in Zurich. We will consecutively publish the elaborated papers on the G+C Blog. However, the talks are already available at Voice Republic.
